The Ministry of Interior is a ministry established on April 1, 1892, with His Royal Highness Prince Damrong Rajanubhab as Minister responsible for interior affairs or the administration of the country, and duties have been divided between the ministries of the interior. and the Ministry of Defense to make it clear that there is no overlap by having the Ministry of Interior be responsible for consolidating the command of all provinces into just one ministry.

          The Ministry of Interior was initially divided into 3 departments, named after the original directory but with different duties:

               •The Central Department of Interior is the employee who does everything. which should not be separated into duties of other departments

              •The Northern Department of the Interior has been assigned as an officer in the Crime Suppression Division and the Prosecution Department, including dealings with foreigners. (But afterward, matters related to foreign countries were transferred to the duty of the Permanent Secretary to present to Chalong)

              •Department of the Interior, Phlaphang Division, to be an official of the local administrative department.

        •BE 2466 Krom Phalampang There are sub-government departments, namely the Administrative Department and the City Department.

        •BE 2467 Krom Phalampang There are sub-government departments, namely internal and external departments. and the Registration Department

        •1926 Krom Phalampang There are sub-government departments, namely the Administrative Department, Registration Department and Corrections Department.

          After the change of government in 1932 from an absolute monarchy to a regime Democracy in 1933, the Lampang Department changed its name to the Department of Interior. Later, in 1962, the name was changed to "Department of Provincial Administration" until now
